Rice Characteristics

The Steam process involves gently steaming and firming the paddy (unhusked rice) after a short pre-soaking, then drying and milling it. It is a lighter process than Parboiled/Sella, allowing the grains to maintain their natural white color and subtle aroma. As a result, the rice:
  • Has a pronounced natural aroma, with long and separate grains.
  • Shows lower chalkiness and a brighter appearance.
  • Offers a shorter soaking time and a softer texture compared to Sella.
  • Is ideal for everyday white rice, pot dishes, and rice-based recipes served with toppings.
