How to Cook?

Soak the rice in water for 30 minutes; then drain.
Sear the meat in a pot until it releases its juices. Add enough warm water to cover the meat by about 2–3 cm, then add 2 teaspoons of salt. Cover and cook over low heat until the water is absorbed.
For the rice: Heat 5 tablespoons of olive oil in a pot; add the drained 2 cups of rice and stir for 1–2 minutes. Add 3 cups of hot water and 1 teaspoon of salt; cover and cook on low heat for 10–15 minutes.
In another pan, heat 5 tablespoons of olive oil and add 1 chopped onion. Add the cooked meat and sauté; season with 1 teaspoon of chili powder, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1 teaspoon of thyme. Sauté for another 1–2 minutes, then remove from heat.
Serve the sautéed meat on top of the rice.
